bikes fixed up and given away in Hull since 2017

Every one of those little bikes behind this is a real one. The 312 green ones went out this year, to refugees, young carers, nurses on night shifts, and kids who'd never had one.

A bike is a job, a school run, a bit of freedom

Yonas, 27

Came to Hull from Eritrea in 2024. Got his bike in March, now rides 9 miles each way to a warehouse job at Melton. The bus would have taken two changes and an hour and a half.

Ruby, 9

Her mum is her carer as well as her mum. A bike meant Ruby could get to school with her friends instead of waiting for a lift that sometimes didn't come.

Kyle, 15

Did our eight week mechanic course. Built his own bike from three donated wrecks. Now he volunteers on Saturdays and teaches the course.

Other ways to help

Give us your old bike

Any condition. Even the one with no seat. Drop it at the workshop on Saturdays, or we'll collect anywhere in HU postcodes.

Give a Saturday

No experience needed. We'll teach you to fix brakes, true wheels and fit gears. Tea and biscuits are on us.

Tell someone who needs one

Referrals come from schools, refugee support groups, GP surgeries and young carers groups. Or people can just ask.
